Carer Gateway aims to make your life easier.
By calling Carer Gateway, you will be connected with a new Australia-wide network of Carer Gateway service providers. They will talk through what you need and help you to find local services and support to help you.
From 1 July 2020, Carer Gateway service providers also have a dedicated young carer support worker to assist you in finding the right supports.
Young Carers Connect (YCC) is a safe online space for young carers aged 12-25 years to engage with each other and find support.
Join us for a series of fortnightly YCC sessions facilitated by the Young Carers Team at Carers Australia and Relationships Australia.
Young Carers Connect is all about having a laugh, playing games and meeting other young people who care for others.
Carers National News (CNN) is our weekly newsletter, freely available when you subscribe to our electronic mail-out service. CNN provides updates, insights and editorial from Carers Australia, news on upcoming events, carer-related topics and issues, and relevant developments in related sectors and Federal politics.
Love my therapy ponies
Hi, I am Lucinda. I live in country South Australia. I am 16 and care for my sister who has multiple disabilities, including autism and an intellectual disability.
We are home schooled and I love it. I do however have to spend 24/7 with my sister which can be challenging but also rewarding. I help as much as I can with the house hold chores, including cooking and help mum with my sister’s learning. She engages better when I am helping her with learning and mum and I come up with some creative ways to teach her..
